iOS app that returns analytics on bit.ly and goo.gl short URLs.
Initial sketches included imagery based on concepts of data analysis and various associations with "shortening", "cutting", and otherwise "compressing" URLs.
The bit.ly URL shortening service suggested to me the image of a pair of scissors cutting URL "pages" into smaller "bits".
We decided that the scissors design was somewhat misleading, since the app's function wasn't itself a shortening service, but a tool to analyze already-shortened URLs. For this reason I returned to the design and replaced the scissors with a magnifying glass, showing it focusing on the data on one of the "bits" of paper.
Icons were needed for the app settings legal, support, mail, and twitter. I similarly created rough sketches, which I developed into web-ready versions using Illustrator.
Finally, I created a simple informational splash page for the promotion of Shortlytics. It included a newsletter signup option and link to download the app from the App Store.
